Germany: a dead dog found. Police are searching for the owner

How can anyone act like this? Who are these people who have the nerve to do such a thing?
On January 19, 2026, in Germany, a dead dog was found at the tourist parking area Wanderparkplatz “Roter Fuchs” in Grünenplan. She was just a puppy — a female, around five months old. Her body was discovered by a passer-by, who reported it to the police.

She had no microchip and no collar. The owner could not be identified.

According to the police, the dog had a black-and-white coat, spotted front legs and a white belly, and resembled a German Shorthaired Pointer. It is possible that someone may recognize her based on this description.
Let’s be honest: real owners do not act this way. People who love their animals do not discard their bodies in a parking lot like unwanted objects. This happens when an animal was never seen as a living being in the first place — when it was treated as “cargo,” a “shipment,” a “unit,” rather than a life.

Far too often, this is how illegal transporters and intermediaries operate. The puppy did not make it, became ill, or died during transport — and was simply disposed of to avoid responsibility. This is not a tragic accident. It is a conscious, inhumane act.

Somewhere, there may be a person still waiting for their “baby,” believing reassurances that “everything is fine.” Someone may never have been told the truth.
The police of Stadtoldendorf ask anyone who may recognize this dog or provide information about the owner to come forward.

When will this finally end? When will people understand that animals are not entertainment, not a means of profit, not merchandise or disposable goods?

Animals are living beings. They feel pain and fear, they get sick, they need food and water, they get tired, they suffer from cold, and they trust humans until the very end. And it is the human being who bears full responsibility for every life they take into their hands.
